CbDers: Who We Are

By: Ryan Watts – Consulting by Degrees Global Social Media Lead

IBM is all about making the world a smarter planet through research, technology and partnerships with clients from around the world. But making the world smarter also takes smart, driven, forward thinking people – and that’s what Consulting by Degrees is all about.

This two year program takes the best and brightest from around the world and sets out a path forward to grow into new expertise, leadership roles and more. Yet, the program is so strong because of the initiative undertaken by those inside the program to develop as quickly as possible.

Through a variety of projects that span the globe, ‘CbDers,’ as we are often called, make an impact and are highly sought after as resources in many ways. As the program has seen success, its reach has similarly expanded. Now, CbDers are in countries like Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Chile, Columbia, the United Arab Emirates, Japan, China, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Italy and other countries in Europe, Latin America and the greater continent of Asia.

Even though the things we pursue and the work we do varies from geography to geography, the end goal is the same – a group of new members of a worldwide smarter workforce, built to help our clients, our planet and each other reach new heights.

Through this blog, we hope to share what this program really looks like – how a massive global network of young professionals functions like a community and the learning, knowledge sharing and training make us all stronger as individuals and as IBMers.
